What happens to little girls? Why is it that your carefree, happy and self-confident daughter seems to change overnight? Where do her self-esteem and self-acceptance go? The onset of puberty and adolescence is a turning point in a girl’s life. Careful parents recognize that messages from the media, competition for friendships at school, the desire to be accepted and popular, as well as the desire to be attractive, all combine in a girl’s life to create a potential perfect storm of confusion and self-doubt. Mothers can assist their daughters through this confusing and challenging stage of their lives. This course will provide mothers of daughters with the tools to strengthen their ability to connect with daughters through the use of compassionate communication and empathy. Mothers will learn how to identify their own reactive behaviors and how to replace these behaviors with proactive ones. Above all, mothers will learn to identify what their daughters really need and how to help and nurture them.
